Gothic Meets Southwest
Located at 207 Old Santa Fe Trail, the Loretto Chapel looks distinctly out of place as Santa Fe's only miniature Gothic cathedral. A curious study in the allocation of resources, The Loretto Chapel is very tall, very ornate, was very expensive to build (except the staircase, that was free) and seats a sparse 129 people.
A Haunted Date
For our anniversary, Johnpaul and I went on a haunted date to the infamous Luna Mansion in Los Lunas, New Mexico. It was a Tuesday evening and there was snow on the ground so, needless to say, it was slow night at the Mansion... which is exactly what I was hoping for. To make things even better, the bartender had called in sick so the upstairs bar was not in service but the manager still allowed us to go exploring up there all by ourselves. This is not the kind of thing that I could've orchestrated so apparently the Mansion wanted to give us a look around.
Time Lapse Video
The above time lapse video was shot with a Canon EOS 80d and Canon 17mm-40mm f4 L lens on February 5, 2019 from my back yard in Los Lunas, New Mexico. While the 80d was busy shooting the time lapse, I shot the still photos with my iPhone SE.
Jellyfish And Other Dangerous Sea Creatures
These photos were shot almost three years ago on February 21, 2016. After our wedding on February 19, 2016 in Frederick, MD, Johnpaul and I spent the next few days visiting many of the fun attractions in the Baltimore / Washington DC area.
The darkened interior of the aquarium presented a challenging lighting situation for the iPhone 5s that I was shooting with at the time but I did manage to get a few good shots, especially of the well-lit jellyfish.
Wind + Clouds = Awesome Time Lapse Video
The above video was shot on February 4, 2019 from my backyard in Los Lunas, New Mexico using a Canon EOS 80D with Canon 17mm-40mm f4 L lens. The camera ran for approximately 2.5 hours with a frame rate of 3 seconds. Los Lunas Mountain is visible at the bottom of the frame.
While my 80D was busy shooting video, I shot the other still photos with my iPhone SE.
