Rio Grande Bosque in Los Lunas, New Mexico I grew up in Los Lunas, New Mexico but never walked the Bosque trails until I moved back here in 2017. Riverside Park This particular area in the Bosque is known as Riverside Park. It is located at 1601 Main St. SE in Los Lunas, New Mexico. It is on the south side of the newly renovated Main Street Bridge. There are picnic tables and a covered banquet space as well as an RV Park for those wishing to embody the notion of living in van down by the river. The COVID-19 pandemic has seen an increase in the number of homeless people seeking refuge in the Bosque. Their camps can be found hidden off the trail amongst the trees and I suggest leaving them alone. Riverside Park is easily one of the most beautiful Bosque Open Spaces. With a mixture of tall, spindly Cottonwoods and Cottonwoods of the centurion monolith variety, Riverside park has eye candy everywhere you look. The official trail is 2.3 miles round-trip but I think you could go farther than that if you wanted to. I've walked forever and never actually run out of trail. Winter Trees As a prime location for winter trees, Riverside Park in Los Lunas is high on the list. As an added bonus, a large population of Sandhill Cranes spends their winter days at the Edeal Dairy which is right down the street.
